Murray Dean Nelsen

Murray Dean Nelsen was born August 25, 1935 in Ponca City, OK, and graduated in 1952 from Ponca City High School. He began his college education at Northern Oklahoma Junior College and finished his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering at Wichita State University. He worked for the Boeing Company from 1958 to retirement in 1996 as the V.P. Director of Operations. He passed away at age 87 on September 4th, 2022. He was the son of late H.P. and Christina Nelsen of Ponca City, OK. Dean was the husband of Diana (Walker) Nelsen from 1957 to 2017 and later the husband of Melba Joy (Gamble) Nelsen from 2020 to 2022. Dean is survived by 5 children: Richard Nelsen (May) of Wichita; John Nelsen of Wichita; Catherine Mitby (Byron) of Wichita; Kenneth Nelsen (Jennifer) of rural Valley Center, KS; and, Luke Nelsen (Tara) of Kingman, KS.

Leonard Ivan Engle, Jr. was born on July 2, 1959 to Louise and Leonard Ivan Engle, Sr. He grew up riding bikes, fishing nearby ponds and adventuring with his several siblings, cousins, and friends in his small community of Newkirk, Oklahoma. His teen years included working at the local tire shop and tinkering around with cars and motorcycles as well as spending time with his uncles. Family and friends meant everything to him, even at a young age.
