Timothy Floyd Dancey, I, 65, entered his Heavenly home on November 16, 2020, in Ponca City. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel, with Truman Ferguson officiating. Facemasks are required. The ceremony will conclude with a procession to the Ponca City Fire Department, where they will ring the bell one final time for Tim. Please wear Facemasks and follow social distancing. There will be no viewing. For friends unable to attend due to COVID precautions, the ceremony will be live streamed. The broadcast can be accessed by visiting www.troutfuneralhome.com between 1:45 PM and 2:00 PM, and selecting the Live stream link in the upper right hand of the homepage. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Tim was born on October 18, 1955, in Oklahoma City, to Floyd William and Felicia (Arrington) Dancey. He was raised in Oklahoma City and moved to Ponca City in 1980 to work for the Ponca City Fire Department and raise his family. He was so proud to be a husband, father, and Pappy. Being a firefighter and Hope on Oak, were some of the most important accomplishments in his life. He retired from the Ponca City Fire Department and in 2000 started Dancey-Meador and Dancey Publishing companies.

He served as former chairman of Project Apnea for Kay County and was a CPR instructor. He was a former member of Ambassadors for the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce and a youth group leader and Sunday school teacher at Woodlands Christian Church. He also coached baseball, football, basketball and soccer for all of his children. Tim also served as a member of the Ponca City Medical Foundation Board.

Tim is survived by his wife Janna; Daughter and Son-in-law Kristie and Don Settlemyer, Daughter and Son-in-law Kori and Jarrett Welch, Daughter and Son-in-law T.J. and Wes Crosson, Son and Daughter-in-law Timothy Dancey II and Cassie Stacy; Granchildren Dacoda Hunt, Kyter and Adi Welch, Avah, Michael, and Landon Crosson, Trey, Taylin, and Haylee Dancey; Great Grandson Rugher Hunt; Mother Felicia Dancey; Sister Cindy King, Sister and Brother-in-law Susan and Barry Shisler, two very special nieces Courtney and husband Daniel Choate, Jacqueline and husband Mikey Keating; and Great Niece Brynlee Choate and Baby Boy Choate.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Floyd Dancey, mother-in-law Sue Baker, and niece Chelsea Shisler.

Honorary casket bearers are members of the Ponca City Fire Department.
