Sherry Guerrero went to be with her Heavenly Father surrounded by family on June 7, 2020. Sherry was a loving mother of 4 children, Grandmother of 10 grandchildren, and Great Grandmother to 2 great grandchildren.

Sherry Rae was born the daughter of Orval Lee and Velda Mae Gray of Blackwell, OK on 8-25-50. As a young girl they moved to Kansas City, for a short time until her parents finally found their home in Ponca City, OK. When Sherry was 5 she moved with her Mom to Wichita, Kansas where she lived until she met her husband Fred Spaulding. The couple had two children Marc and Laura. They were married 14 years. Later Sherry met her 2nd Husband Rawleigh Guerrero. They then had her third daughter Amanda. She also adopted one of her foster children Heather. Although her favorite child was always her beloved dog Suri.

Sherry loved school and received her high school diploma from West High School in Wichita Kansas. She later went back to school received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Northern Oklahoma College. She started working at the age of 11 and was always a hard worker her whole life. She made her living by running an in-home day care where she babysat many children over the years. She also worked as a teacher at Ponca City Head start for many years. She also worked for at Walmart and Sikes until she retired. She was also a foster mom for DHS and had over 100 children come through her loving home.

Sherry was a dedicated Christian making her church home at Sunset Baptist Church and later at Northeast Baptist. She taught Sunday school, helped with mission friends, helped with bible school, and helped bring her own children as well as countless others to Christ. She always had a good story to tell how Christ worked in her life and how he could work in your life if you only believe. She always proclaimed his glory and was not afraid to tell a stranger or a nonbeliever about Christ. She loved her church friends and quickly made them family and in turn she was loved by her church family.

Sherry loved the lord. Her passion was her family. She loved her foster children like her own. She always loved all babies, Iced tea, garage sales and antique stores. She was a collector of stuff. She loved all animals but especially her beloved dog Suri Mae. She liked to make people laugh, act silly, and enjoyed having her family and friends over. She did not know a stranger, and everyone was a friend. She would make a meal or feed anyone but above all she loved to cook for her brother Bob.

Sherry is survived by her 4 children, Marc Spaulding, and Wife Stephanie of Ponca City, OK, Laura Weaver and Husband John of Ponca City, OK, Amanda Lepley and Husband Daniel of Ohiopyle, PA, Heather Smith and Husband Joshua of Ponca City. 10 Grandchildren, Wate Weaver-Collins and Husband Walker, Max Spaulding, Wyatt Lepley, Kendyl Baugus, Kylie Teets-Lepley, and Kynzie Teets-Lepley, Walker Weaver, Wriley Weaver, Hallie Epperly , and Madison Epperly. Two great grandchildren Anakin Spaulding and Jaxson Vick, and one great grandchild on the way. Brother Bob Gray and wife Becky of Ponca City, OK, Sister Tamera Buchanan, of Independence, MO, and Jakki Miller of Wichita Kansas, and 7 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Orval Gray, Her Mother Velda Readdy, and Brother Austin Gray.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on this day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

A celebration of life service will be held on June, 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Baptist Church 915 W. Greenwood, Ponca City, Ok 74601. The funeral will be officiated by John Weaver.
