Ross Lynn Scott, 85, of Newkirk, passed away January 11, 2021. Lynn was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on October 12, 1935 to Robert Wendell and Ida Mae (Gibbs) Scott. He attended OK Rural School, then graduated from Newkirk High School in 1953. He went on to graduate from Arkansas City Junior College in 1955 and Oklahoma State University in 1958 with a degree in Agriculture/Dairy.

Lynn married Betty Joanne Lamb in Arkansas City, Kansas on August 12, 1956. They spent their lives in Newkirk, Oklahoma raising their three children and working hard. Lynn was a dairy, wheat, and cattle farmer as well as driving a school bus for OK Rural School for 14 years. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newkirk, served on several boards and committees including Newkirk Farmers Coop Board of Directors, Dale Water Corporation Board of Directors and FSA Kay County Committee. He received recognition for his work as Honorary Chapter Farmer – Newkirk FFA, and the Governor’s Award for Soil Conservation-Kay County Soil Conservation District.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynda and husband Larry Eisenhauer, of Newkirk, and daughter-in-law Janet Scott, of Independence, KS. Grandchildren: Dustin Eisenhauer, Edmond, OK; Justin & Jerrilyn Eisenhauer, of Tulsa, OK; and Mitchell Harrell, of Ponca City, OK. Two step grandchildren Aaron & Sara Meyer, of Joplin, MO; Dustin & Cheryl Meyer, of Aransas Pass, TX. Two great grandchildren Jaxin and Justus Eisenhauer, of Tulsa, OK. Nine step great grandchildren: Autumn Scott, of Independence, KS; Swade Scott, of Aransas Pass, TX; Brooklyn and Peyton Meyer, of Joplin MO; Bryson, Trenton, Zachary, and Gracie Meyer, of Aransas Pass, TX and Bryson Meyer, of Kansas City, MO. half sister Barbara Crosley, of Hutchinson, KS and half brother Ernest Barnes, of Elkhart, KS.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons Rodney W. Scott and Thomas E. Scott, his parents, stepmother LaVada Scott, stepfather Fred Barnes, brother Phillip D. Scott, half brother Freddie Barnes and half sister Connie Sue Craig.

Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday, January 14, from 9am to 4pm, Friday, January 15, from 9am to 7pm and Saturday, January 16, from 10am to noon at Grace Memorial Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 16, at the Newkirk City Cemetery with Pastor Mark Southard presiding.
