Randy Lee Byrum, age 53, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 near Pond Creek, OK.

A ceremony to celebrate Randy’s life was held Monday, April 6, 2020 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gym beginning with a noon feast. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Randy was born on May 8, 1966 to Larry Byrum and Gloriann Wells Byrum in Beaver, OK. He was raised in the Beaver area; graduating from high school there in 1987. After high school he moved to Enid where he met Candace “Candy” Rachelle Hockert whom became his wife on December 7, 1996 in Tonkawa, OK, celebrating 23 years of marriage. Randy served as a maintenance foreman for Hammer Williams, which operate the Jiffy Trip convenience stores throughout Oklahoma. Randy is known for his loving heart and his self-less ways. One way he showed this was by helping others and caring little about what he could get from it. He always had side jobs that he was doing and all he did was work to be an amazing provider. His family was another passion. The times at the lake with his children on the jet ski or playing with his granddaughter gave him great joy. He never acted his age and wasn’t going to start anytime soon. He adored his wife and was always pleased to return home to her. While he cared much for others, Randy was fond of setting off on his motorcycle to cruise the roads and clear his mind with his wife riding as his passenger.

Survivors include his wife, Candy of the home, children: son, Alec Byrum and fiance’ Kaila Weaver, daughter, Lauryn Byrum, and son, Mason Byrum, all of Ponca City; granddaughter, Haidyn Byrum of Ponca City; mother, Gloriann Byrum of Enid, siblings: Cheryl Lunday of Enid, Kevin Byrum and wife Debbie of Covington, OK, Alan Byrum of Enid, as well as Carl Byrum and wife Karen of Norman, OK; and mother and father in law, Fred and Elizabeth Hockert of Tonkawa, OK. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Larry Byrum and sister in law, Shirley Byrum.
