Lola Marie (Dobson) Glasgow, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Sat. Feb 8, 2020 at 1:50 pm surrounded by her loving husband Dr. Bill Glasgow, Jr. and her children and grandchildren.

She was born Nov 19, 1930 at home near Little Beaver Creek at Kaw, Oklahoma. Lola was the 2nd born daughter of James and Faye (Longshore) Dobson.

She attended Little Beaver School. Lola and her sister, Cora, rode horses 2 ½ miles to the one room schoolhouse.

In 1948, Lola graduated Kaw City High School and attended Northern Ok Jr College at Tonkawa where she received her associate degree in Domestic Engineering. At Tonkawa, Lola met the love of her life, William Rodney Glasgow, Jr. They were united in marriage on Sept 17, 1950 in Aline, Ok.

Lola found employment at Bendix Aviation and participated in the construction of nuclear submarines and F86 Fighter Jets while Bill attended Dental School in Kansas City, Mo.

Lola and Bill moved to Hominy, Ok in 1956 to establish a dental practice and raise their family.

Through the years, Lola served her community in a variety of roles as Cub Scout Den Mother in the 1960Õs, 4th of July Coordinator (1987-1995) and actively involved with ESA and the Hominy Public Schools as the first elected female board member for more than 10 years. With her husband, Dr. Bill, she traveled as his dental assistant around the world on Medical Missions to bring dental care to the needy in Kenya, Mexico and South America.

Lola is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Bill Glasgow, Jr of 69 years and their seven children: Rodney D. Glasgow of Hominy, Ok; Sondra G. and Wayne Brown of Hominy, Ok; Steven D. and Bonnie Glasgow of Canon City, Colorado; Michael D. and Irina Glasgow of Canon City, Colorado; Theresa M. and Jeffrey Moeller of Owasso Ok; Phillip V. and Stephanie Glasgow of McKinney, Texas; and Patty L. and Scott Bassler of Watertown, Tenn; one sister Cora Ballagh of Ada, Ok. And countless nieces and nephews and cousins. Lola dearly loved her family and was especially proud of her 22 Grandchildren and 50 Great-grandchildren. Her 50th great grandchild birth arrival was the day before she went to heaven. Family meant everything to Lola.

She was a women devoted to giving unconditional love to her family and friends. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and kept Him first in her life. She loved to share her encounters with Jesus that began when she was a very young girl. Lola was known for her kindness and willingness to pray for others. Trusting Jesus was easy for her.

Lola is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James M. (Mitch) Dobson.

Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held Sat Feb 15 at 2 pm at Antioch Christian Fellowship in Wynona, Oklahoma with her son in law, Pastor Wayne Brown officiating. Interment precedes the Memorial Service in Grand View Cemetery in Kaw City, Ok under the direction of Powell Funeral Service.
