Jackie (Jack) Raymond Reed passed away on August 28, 2019 with his family by his side in Pawhuska, Oklahoma at the age 81. Jack was born to Jerry and Alice (Northup) Reed January 18, 1938 in Oklahoma. He grew up in the Pawhuska and Ralston area attending school in Ralston.

Jack joined the US Army in 1955. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Italy and various other locations around the world. He married his teenage love and soul mate, Bonnie Sue Rowland in 1958. As soon as the Army would allow, he took his bride on bases with him having 2 children in Italy, 1 in Korea, and a 4th at Tinker. After 18 years of service Jack received an Honorable Discharge from the Army as Staff Sargent Artillery and eventually settled his family in the Pawhuska area. Here he became a roustabout and spent many hours in the oil fields.

Jack enjoyed his family very much, he would call his daughter, Alice every morning to let her know he loved her. He would come to the aid of his adult children and grandchildren day or night. Being the last of 5 siblings Jack filled the gap for their children as best as he could, somehow picking p some extras along the way. He was kind to everyone he met and would do anything for ya.

Left to mourn Jack’s passing is his wife, Bonnie Sue Reed, daughter; Alice Massey, son; Jack Reed, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and more great nieces and nephews than you can shake a stick at.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 3rd, at the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax with Pastor Greg Doyle presiding. Jack will be laid to rest in the Foraker Cemetery following the service. A time for visitation will be available Tuesday morning from 9am to noon at the funeral home.
