Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Floyd was born on June 27, 1933, in Alpine, IN. He was the son of John B. and Pearl A. (Harrison) Allen, both of whom preceded him in death. Floyd had to quit formal schooling to help his family, but he didn’t let that slow him down. He always had a love for nice cars and trucks. That love moved Floyd to not only collect classic cars and trucks, but to start his own Rock and Asphalt Hauling business: Allen’s Trucks. He worked hard at that business eventually securing state contracts and growing his business. Floyd’s “Sweetie” Jeanne helped him with the business, including driving trucks herself if the need arose. The times they worked together were spoken of often and fondly by Floyd.

Survivors include his three children: John R. Allen, Mary M. (Allen) Babbard, and Michael T. Allen; seven grandchildren, and two sisters. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jeannie M. (McClung) Allen, three brothers and six sisters.
