The family wishes to thank all who participated in Ed’s care over the past several months, especially the staff members of Shawn Manor and Hospice. We also wish to express our appreciation for all the kindnesses and acknowledgements of sympathy shown during our time of loss.

Edwillard Allen passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Shawn Manor Nursing Home at the age of 71. He was born July 30, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was raised by his adoring grandmother Evelyn Ray Allen. Ed, as he was known to most, graduated from high school and immediately enlisted in the Air Force doing a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return to New Orleans he was hired by the New Orleans Parish sheriff’s department as a deputy sheriff.

Upon moving to Ponca City, Ed married Udell Luster in 1977 and daughter Christal was born in February 1982. He worked at the Conoco Refinery for many years and later worked at Sykes, Inc. Ed enjoyed fishing, bowling, working on computers; and he loved Ponca City.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Evelyn Ray Allen; mother Leah Allen; aunts Estella Allen & Evelyn Gie; uncles Romeo Allen & Lawrence Allen.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters Christal, Monique & Kim; cousins Andrea & Dionne; seven (7) grandchildren Alvin, Teyianne, Desmond, Gerald, Aylia (AJ), Darrius & De’Jaun; three (3) great-grandchildren, and a host of other family & cherished friends.
