Dennis James “Sam” Bearskin went on walkabout on December 29th at the age of 64.

His many journeys on this earth included falling through roofs for the Ponca City Fire Department for 20 years, collecting dogs, listening to music as loud as possible, and giving toddlers gold dollar coins.

This walk is a solo trip as he left behind a lot of loving family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Cindy Bearskin, of 44 years, his sisters Kayron Elam and Phyllis Zuffante, his daughters Caitlin Bearskin & Shannon Dunnigan and her husband ‘CJ’. He was extremely proud of his granddaughters Emma and Samantha and his many nieces and nephews.

He caught up to his father, James Bearskin, and his mother, Lucille Bearskin on their crossing. Also, he will now get to spend time with his daughter Jennifer Bearskin that had to leave too soon.

No services will be held because of the Covid-19 pandemic. If you would like to remember him with friends, there will be a celebration of life at ‘Back 2 Sigh’s’ on Sunday, March 14th. Friends are encouraged to join to tell stories and eat. Masks are required.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider donating your money or time to any charities that help animals, babies, or those struggling with addiction.
