Debra was born on June 28, 1959, in Blackwell, OK, to Donald Francis and Wanda Jeannean (Carson) Wanko. She worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for 34 years at Ponca City Nursing Home & Rehab. Debra loved to hunt and be in the outdoors, exploring nature. She was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her farm. Her love for horses started at a young age and continued throughout her lifetime. Debra also developed a love for pygmy goats and raised many babies. She was always so excited when babies were born with blue eyes. Although some may say she loved her grandchildren the greatest, she just loved them differently. Her grandchildren were the dots that connected the lines from generation to generation. Family was most important to Debra.
She is survived by: her husband, Steve; her daughters, Lacey Hendrix and her husband, Matt, of Tahlequah, OK, Jordan Sherbon and Daniel Marquez, of Ponca City; stepchildren, Sabrina Walden, Stoney Blan, Brittney Blan, Bethany Ellegood; grandchildren, Joe Hendrix, Ben Hendrix, Elli Hendrix, Kyler Cox, Korbin Cox, Kinley Marquez; sister, Judy Bales and her husband, Gary, of Ponca City; nephews, Casey Badley and his wife, Heather, of Ponca City, Wesley Badley and his wife, Kelcie, of Meeker, OK.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, we request that you perform an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness. Debra always helped others. We pray that her kindness and love for others will carry on.
