Claude “Sagebrush” Cochran, resident of Tonkawa, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Claude was born on December 17, 1934 in Three Sands, Oklahoma to his parents Russell Forest Cochran and Margaret Ruth (Pierce) Cochran. He enlisted into the United States Army where he served for over 20 years. Claude was a decorated soldier receiving the Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallentry, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, as well as the Purple Heart. Claude married Una Randall in February of 1966 in Ponca City. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing music, mainly the Bass, Guitar and Banjo. He also enjoyed tinkering around with electronics.

Claude is survived by his wife, Una Cochran of Haysville, Kansas, son, Wesley Cochran and wife, Susan of Arkansas City, Kansas, daughter, Elizabeth Weed and husband Terry of Haysville, Kansas, sister, Patricia Pepper of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, cousin, Chris Cochran and wife, Sharon of Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Margaret Cochran and his brother, Baby Joe.

A memorial ceremony for Claude will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Bethesda Assembly of God in Blackwell. Burial will follow the ceremony in Tonkawa I.O.O.F Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation.
