Carl Robert Liberton, 79, of Arkansas City, KS, died on August 31, 2021 at his home.

The remains will be laid to rest at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.

Carl was born July 13, 1942 in Ponca City to John Peter Liberton and Kathryn Elizabeth (Luis) Liberton. Carl had three brothers: Marvin, Kenneth, and Ray.

Carl attended school in Ponca City until he joined the military in 1960. Carl served in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Oriskany as a deckhand for 4 years. During this time, Carl also attended St. Joseph’s Military Academy in Hays, Kansas. After the military, Carl attended school in Okmulgee where he learned to be a skilled diesel mechanic.

Carl is survived by his children Tina Schuenemann (Jason) of Edmond, OK, Eric Liberton (Erin) of Ponca City, OK, Arron Liberton of Edmond, OK, and four grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marvin and his wife Zola.
