Brad Blevins was born in Rolla, Missouri during the time his father, Douglas Blevins, finished his degree at Missouri School of Mines. He moved with his parents to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where his father accepted a position with Phillips 66. After claiming Bartlesville as home-base, Brad traveled with his family around the world while his father continued working for Phillips.

Brad spent the early grade school years in Sweden and all of his high school in Singapore. Days before leaving Bartlesville for Singapore, Brad obtained the highest rank in Boys Scouts, Eagle Scout at age 14. Within days, he left Bartlesville for Singapore where he later graduated from Singapore American School in 1978. He then studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma with an Engineering Scholarship for Foreign Students.

After graduating, Brad accepted a position with Phillips Petroleum stationed in Shidler, Oklahoma. While attending First Baptist Church, Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he met Cynthia Moore. He was later moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Brad married Cynthia Moore in 1984.

Brad and Cynthia lived in Oklahoma City through the oil, farming, housing, and bank downturn in 1985-1988. During this time he earned an MBA and graduated for a second time from OU in May 1988. After graduation, he accepted a position in Houston, Texas, with Enron. Where he worked on the four different pipelines that made up Enron: Houston Pipeline, Northern Natural, Florida Gas and Transwestern. He spent most of his time working one pipeline, Houston Pipeline. In 2001 Brad went with Houston Pipeline when it was sold to American Electric Power. After about a year he left AEP and eventually went to work for Enterprise Products, where he spent 15 years with his pipeline friends. Brad’s enjoyment of work and dedication to perfection was a testimony of his character and binding principles that no challenge was too hard, no employer too demanding, and when doing anything, one should do it right the first time or not at all.

After 12 years of marriage, Brad and Cynthia were blessed with two children, Carissa and Karsten, whom he referenced often. His later years were filled with hobbies of making BBQ sauce for his friends, recounting hunting trips, and watching OU Football. Brad loved his time fostering orphaned Terriers with his friends at the Westie and Scottie Rescue of Houston, where he found Zola, “a good dog.” He was active in attending his beloved Sunday School class at Woodridge Baptist Church, Kingwood, TX up until his passing on Tuesday.

Brad is survived by his wife Cynthia and their two children Carissa and Karsten, as well as his mother, Donna Blevins of San Antonio, brother Scott and his wife Leah, of San Antonio, and their children Zachary, Abby, and Eden, and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Blevins and children Madison and Mitchell.

Brad is preceded in death by his father Doug and his brother Perry, his grandparents, Eileen and Chalmore Schuyler, and George and Nina Blevins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Baptist Church, Ponca City, Oklahoma for Missions of spreading the gospel, for which Brad was often fascinated by their dedication and love of God.
