Some workers don’t want a COVID-19 vaccine. Can their bosses make them get it anyway?

Most of the faculty at a southern Minnesota high school can’t wait to get the shots that will protect them against COVID-19. But an instructor who teaches business classes said he’s not ready to take it, and he fears that his refusal to get vaccinated will prevent him from returning to his classroom.

Budgets and Redistricting

As February gets closer, a lot of work is happening at the state Capitol to prepare for the legislative session. The legislature’s main responsibility is passing a balanced budget and that process starts in the appropriations subcommittees. Our nearly 70 state agencies submitted their budget proposals last fall and this month will explain their requests to the appropriations subcommittees responsible for their budgetary oversight.

Ceremony held for paramedic program graduates

A celebration of success for seven graduates of Cowley College’s 2020 paramedic program was held Tuesday, January 5 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room at the main campus in Arkansas City. The following are the graduating members of the class: Daniel Alderson, Mark Bush, Brydgett Pitzer, Derrick Yoder, Cathryn Burton, Loren Farley, and Haley Watts.

Local residents invited to attend virtual community wellness discussion

Ponca City, OK – Ponca City residents are invited to participate in a local virtual health and wellness online discussion event. The TSET Healthy Living Program in Kay County has scheduled a “City of Ponca City Online Public Discussion” to begin at 12:00 PM on January 26, 2021, via Zoom.
