Condition of another student hurt in Michigan State shooting improves DETROIT — One of the five Michigan State University students wounded in the Feb. 13 shootings on campus has improved from critical condition to serious but stable condition since Tuesday, said John Foren, a spokesman for Sparrow Health System.

By June, farmers will need prescription to fill certain livestock drugs

Farmers are soon going to need a prescription to treat their cattle, horses and other livestock with certain drugs since pharmacists are moving those drugs behind the counter. In June 2021, the Food and Drug Administration provided a framework for the pharmaceutical industry to voluntarily make certain over-the-counter drugs prescription drugs, according Bradley Secraw, Cleveland County Oklahoma State University Extension agriculture educator.

United Way of North Central Oklahoma grants available for non-profit organizations

It was announced Thursday that grant funds are available to non-profit organizations through the United Way of North Central Oklahoma Manering Endowment, designated gifts program. The Endowment welcomes proposals from any nonprofit organization in Ponca City with an IRS tax-exempt status and a policy of nondiscrimination. The Endowment will consider funding for special projects and new innovative programs focusing on Education, Financial Stability and Health and Safety. These three focus areas are critical to improving lives in the community.
