Burbank First Baptist Church News

Body
The news of the day often is depressing. There appears to be more bad news than good news. However, it all depends upon what you desire to place your focus on. The most important method for people to handle to news of each day is to remember that regardless of what happens, God is still in control. Think about it for a minute or two. There are weather related events that seem to devastate people’s lives. There are unbelievable shootings that seem to have no real reason for occurring. There may be an unexpected death of loved ones that must be dealt with. Families are in crisis because they just cannot seem to settle their disputes. I am sure I could name many more. So, do not focus on the news that may upset you. Instead, focus on the things that seem to be more positive. What about prayers that get answered? Isn’t it exciting when God speaks to someone’s heart. The result is a desire to follow God’s plan for one’s life. Remember God has had a plan for mankind since creation. God knows all about your problems. Your desire should be to look to the Lord to lead and guide you through each day. People need encouragement. Why not try to find ways to help people deal with the news that upsets them. Let them know you are there to listen, if they want to talk. Tell them that you will be praying for them. Then, make sure you do it. Days before Jesus died on the cross, he gave believers a message. John 14:18, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” Attend the church of your choice this weekend. When you find Jesus, He will be there for you..
