Big shoes filled as Senate appropriators spread earmarks wealth

WASHINGTON — The retirement of several titans of congressional appropriating hasn’t slowed down the Senate’s appetite for “congressionally directed spending” — better known as earmarks. Under new management this year, the Senate Appropriations Committee has allocated nearly $7.6 billion worth of earmarks among over 3,700 separate line items tucked into their fiscal 2024 bills, a CQ Roll Call analysis found.

MORGAN, a Stillwater-based entertainer, adds her name to the long list of performers of the Full Moon Concert Series in Tonkawa. Morgan Reynolds, lead singer of the MORGAN band, is known for her unique and powerful vocals, as well as her talents with multiple instruments, not even to mention her song writing. Her songs Soul Tree, Remain Mine, and Let Yourself Be, have ranked repeatedly in the World Music Charts Top 40 list, most being ranked in the Top 10. MORGAN was formed in October of 2011 in the band’s hometown, Stillwater. Now the band, featuring Morgan Reynolds on vocals, sax, piano, guitar, and acting as manager and songwriter for the band, Victor “McFly” Denny who plays lead guitar, Dave “Bomb” Grounds on bass, and Wayne “Gretzsky” Bovenschen on Percussion, performs all over the area both as a band and Morgan performing solo.

PONTIAC, Mich. — Videos shown by defense attorneys in a court hearing Tuesday showed the teen accused of fatally shooting four classmates in 2021 and injuring multiple others in the midst of breakdowns in the Oakland County jail, asking “why didn’t you save her?” “why didn’t you stop it, you let it happen,” “I’m sorry, I’m sorry please God,” and “you could’ve stopped it God but you didn’t stop it.”
