ATLANTA -- This week’s federal indictment included a few new details of Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia. On Tuesday prosecutors filed a 45-page indictment accusing the former president of conspiring to defraud the United States and other charges as he sought to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.

Russia sentences Putin foe Navalny to 19 more years in jail

A Russian court sentenced opposition leader Alexey Navalny to another 19 years in prison after convicting him of “extremism,” a decision he had earlier described as “Stalinist.” The closed hearing Friday held inside a strict-regime prison found President Vladimir Putin’s most outspoken critic guilty of charges of founding an “extremist” group and six other related counts. The judge ordered the new term also to be served in a strict-regime prison.

As your Lieutenant Governor, I have had the privilege of visiting with countless businesses in all 77 counties. Most of the time, I’m included in celebrations – welcoming a new company coming to town or breaking ground on an expansion. I’m grateful for the opportunity to celebrate those economic development wins, and I’m particularly excited when those happen in rural Oklahoma.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Program

The Ombudsman program advocates for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, and assisted living facilities. Ombudsman programs work to resolve problems individual residents face and effect change at the local, state, and national levels to improve quality of life and care. Ombudsmen provide information about how to find a facility and what to do to get quality care. Whether through individual contact with residents or systemic advocacy, ombudsmen make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities every day.

Are you tempted to call it a bad day when things start going backwards? How do you stop those thoughts when they start pouring into your mind and heart? Sitting in the heat at McDonald’s with six teenagers and a vehicle that won’t start, after a hot morning of riding therapy, the song came into my head “Count Your many Blessing.” I wanted to call it a bad day, but I was still smiling from pictures that I had seen earlier in the morning. A team had taken our baby rabbits to two nursing homes.
