The vision for the Walk of Warriors project is to honor all who have served this great nation in the Armed Forces. The Newkirk American Legion Auxiliary and the City of Newkirk are partnering to provide the Kay County Walk of Warriors as part of the Newkirk Pathway. The proceeds from the paver sales will assist with the Pathway Project and provide sponsorships to Oklahoma Girls State. Brick pavers may be purchased to honor ANY American who has served or is currently serving in the United States Armed Services. The Veteran NEED NOT be a resident of Kay County. Anyone can purchase a brick in support of a veteran.

Where is the Walk of Warriors located? The Walk of Warriors is a brick paved walking path that will be located on the Kay County Courthouse grounds in historic downtown Newkirk. It will run from 9th and Main along Main Street to the sidewalk leading to the Kay County War Memorial.

What are the pavers? Each 4”x8” paver will be engraved using state of the art laser technology that has a lifetime guarantee to never fade, chip, oxidize or peel. Each paver will have your veteran’s branch of service crest on the left-hand side. The Veteran’s first and last name will be centered automatically on the brick.

When is the deadline to order? Buy early and save $1O! Now through November 30th, paver prices are $65. On December 1st pricing goes up to $75. Orders must be completed by December 31st, 2020.

When is the projected installation? Our goal is to have the Walk of Warriors completed by Veterans Day 2021.
