Ponca City Church and First Lutheran Church are hosting a free Thanksgiving Dinner for the community on Thursday November 25, 2021.

The free Thanksgiving Dinner will be served to-go at a drive-thru or walk-up window at the Ponca City Church on Thanksgiving Day starting at 12:00 noon until they run out with a limit of five meals per request. Drive-thru is located in the main parking area on Chestnut Avenue. Walk-up located in the west side alley at the Basketball/ Volleyball court. The location for the meal is Ponca City Church, 701 West Chestnut Avenue.

The dinner menu will consist of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, dessert, and much more. Be mindful of an elderly or shutin neighbor or friend and get a meal for them. Sponsors for the event includes Agape Church, NewPoint Church, Lowe’s, Salvation Army, The House FM, Golden Chick, Napoli Restaurant and many individual contributors.

“We have taken care of people and organizations in the past and this is truly a community event for everyone to come together to give and serve. It has become something so much bigger than just a meal,” said Shawndra Sheik, the Ponca City Church coordinator for the Thanksgiving Day Dinner. “When we started years ago we served approximately 100 meals and now it has evolved to around 1,000 meals. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who contributes and takes the time to serve our community.”
