Claude Gayle Cassady, 42, has been charged with a felony count of lewd molestation.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 22, 2020 with bond set at $75,000. The bond was reduced to $35,000 on April 23 on the condition that the defendant have no contact with the victim.

Cassady was a police officer in Blackwell until July 2019. He was then hired as a police officer for Fort Oakland.

Carl Stoddard, chief of police for Fort Oakland, said, “Claude Cassady has been terminated and is no longer with us at the Fort Oakland Police Department.”

An initial appearance is scheduled for May 29 at 9 a.m.
