“Selecting Administrators of the Year is always exciting,” said Dr. Pam Deering, CCOSA/OASA Executive Director. “I am especially proud of these awardees this school year who have faced more challenges than any of us could have expected. They have worked tirelessly to ensure the most success possible for their students and school communities. Shelley Arrott is among some of the best Oklahoma administrators. We’re so proud to recognize her efforts.”

OASA has 20 Districts that consist of multiple counties. Eligible OASA members are nominated and selected by their peers in their OASA District.

Shelley Arrott has been an Oklahoma educator for the past 36 years, and the last 25 years have been with Ponca City Public Schools. While with PCPS, she has served as a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary and as an instructional coach and site principal at Union Elementary. Prior to becoming the Superintendent of Ponca City Schools, Arrott served at the district-level in curriculum and as the Executive Director of Human Resources.

“I am humbled and honored to be named the OASA District 4 Superintendent of the Year,” said Arrott. “As a long-time public educator, I continue to be in awe of the dedication of my colleagues and peers. We have the most amazing opportunities to make a positive impact on our students, districts, communities, and state by serving in this great profession. Being an advocate for providing wonderful experiences and opportunities for a wellrounded and excellent education for our students is a true passion, and I have to give the credit to our supportive community, staff, and Board of Education, who help make this passion a reality. I am extremely blessed to be a part of a district with such amazing community partners and staff members who are dedicated to the children of Ponca City.”

“Thank you to OASA and CCOSA for providing immeasurable support to Oklahoma educators continually, but especially during these unprecedented times we are experiencing now,” continued Arrott. “Educators in the great state of Oklahoma have truly been there for each other to share ideas, encouragement, and support, which speaks volumes about the dedication and perseverance to serving our students and districts.”
