Ponca City, Okla., Nov. 19, 2021 – Ponca City Main Street encourages the community to think small and shop big on this Small Business Saturday. Many downtown shops are participating in this nationwide annual event, which is taking place Sat., Nov. 27, 2021. With our growing downtown retail options, shoppers will find gifts for everyone on their list.

“The holiday shopping season is important for all retail shops, but especially for small, local businesses,” said Maci Heppel, Ponca City Main Street executive director. “Ponca City Main Street is excited for our downtown merchants as we see more shops come in and amazing support from our local community and surrounding areas.”

Shoppers will find several of their favorite downtown shops open for Small Business Saturday including American Shaman, The Axe Hole, Cast Iron Co., Cherokee Strip Co., The Doodle Academy, Farm House Kids Co., Honeybee Boutique & Salon, Liles & Company, Pine St. Cannabis, Provisions, Studio 205, Whimsy, and more.

Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010 as a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. Nearly one in five businesses in the US are family-owned, and family-owned businesses are responsible for employing 60% of all workers in the country. That means when Ponca City residents shop locally they’re supporting their families, friends, neighbors, fellow church members and the community as a whole.

Ponca City Main Street’s mission is to serve Ponca City and its citizens by promoting quality of life through efforts focused toward economic growth, historical preservation, cultural development, and revitalization of the downtown and surrounding area.
