The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program is in full effect and have closed the application process for signing up for the program. Due to Covid-19, many families were in need this year, so the program filled up rather quickly.

“ I believe we have 132 families and 281 children that we are able to help have a Christmas this year!” said Phylisha Kimbrel, Salvation Army Angel Tree Coordinator.

For those who are wanting to drop off a gift for the families who have signed up for the Angel Tree Program, you can do so at the drop off location. This year that is at the University Center on December 7th, 8th and 9th from 10 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

“ Gifts will be given out on December 14th through the 19th and my plan is to actually call families after all their children receive gifts and are complete for pick-up.” added Kimbrel.

Angels will be hanging on the Christmas trees at Walmart, the University Center, Walgreens and Hobby Lobby available for people to adopt and buy gifts for them. Brace Books will have Book Angels where books are bought for the children.

For any further questions please call Phylisha Kimbrel at 580-491-9504.
