T he Ponca City Police Department received information on Thursday of some skeletal remains that had been found in a tree line west of Ponca City Nursing & Rehab.

Officers responded and confirmed with the Medical Examiners Officer that the remains appeared to me human. The scene was held overnight.

On Friday morning, the Medical Examiner’s Office and investigators with the Ponca City Police Department Investigations Division processed the area and collected remains.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will attempt to identify the remains.
