The Poncan Theatre’s roof has been in dire need of attention over the last year and a campaign began on April 9, 2021 to raise $100,000 within 100 days by July 18, 2021.

Currently, the Raise the Roof campaign has raised $55,000, halfway through its goal.

On May 25, a $30,000 matching grant started with generous donors pledging to match up to $30,000 to help the campaign.

Current upcoming events for the Poncan Theatre include Shrek the Musical put on by Evans Children’s Academy of Performing Arts from July 9 to July 18; and a series of free summer movies every Tuesday from June 1 to Aug. 10.

The Poncan Theatre is community owned and asks that patrons donate and help repair the roof so that they can continue to put on productions, movies, shows and ensure the longevity of the theatre.
