The first Saturday of each month the Ponca City Aviation Booster Club hosts the fly-in/drive-in/dine-in breakfast at the Ponca City Airport Aviation Booster Clubhouse. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and airport runway construction the booster club has not been able to have the traditional buffet style breakfast for almost one and half years. 7, 2021 from 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. rain or shine breakfast will be served. Charge for the breakfast is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. The breakfast menu is scrambled eggs, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, sausage, bacon, hash browns, fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice, bring your family and friends. Plenty of airplanes will be arriving to kick off the re-opening of the breakfast and the new runway. The Ponca City Regional Airport hosted a ribboncutting ceremony on Friday, July 9, in honor of the airport’s newly reconstructed 7,200-foot runway.

The Ponca City Aviation Booster Club breakfast first began in 1996. They started small and held intermittent events, but the fly-in break fasts were the most popular and eventually the public was invited to attend. “Please continue to support Ponca City activities, events, and businesses,” said Verona Mair.

Funds raised from the breakfast return to the youth in our community. The Ponca City Aviation Foundation gives money back to our local community by providing scholarships for high school seniors, to the Northern Oklahoma Flight Academy for education of future pilots or to work within the industry, and Christmas gifts to local grade school children, through teacher recommendations.
