The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) held a virtual meeting on Thursday Feb. 18 with Deputy Commissioner Keith Reed to answer questions from the press and provide updates on the state of the vaccine supply in Oklahoma.

As of this writing, 681,466 doses of vaccine have been administered in Oklahoma; 204,069 of those have completed their doses. 477,397 have received the primary dose and are awaiting their second dose.

Overall vaccine supply has not been impacted by winter weather, but there is now a backlog of vaccination appointments. This setback, however, will only be a temporary one according to Deputy Commissioner

An additional 25% supply from Pfizer is expected next week, in addition to the 20% increase already anticipated.

A total of 137,000 doses of vaccine are expected by the end of next week.

Weather permitting, additional clinics for 65 and older are planned to begin this weekend.

Beginning Monday, Oklahoma will begin opening vaccinations to other groups outlined in phase 2. This includes residents who are 65 and under with comorbidities and teachers and staff in PreK to 12 schools.
