March Ambassadors meeting held Tuesday, March 21

The Ponca City Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 21 at 8 am.

Angela Spicer called the meeting to order.

Committee members were given assignments to reach out to new chamber members, these new members include IF Welding and Inspection; J. Ted Neel; Davis Tree Service; Farmers Insurance - Traci Fluty; Wily’s Wash; The Root Shop; and McCord Public School.

The Chamber is collecting door prizes for their Support Staff Reception that will be held on Thursday, April 13 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Chamber Office.

The March Business After Hours event will be hosted by Philips 66 on Thursday, March 23 at the Conoco Museum at 501 W. South Ave. from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Interim Chamber CEO Tiffany Hermann then provided a Chamber Update.

The second Party at the Palace auction planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 4 pm at the Ponca City Country Club.

The Chamber is currently accepting applications for the Larry Hughes Leadership Award. Nominations are due to Tiffany Hermann by Friday, March 24 at 5 pm.

Ponca Politics will also host a legislative update forum with Senator Bill Coleman and Representatives Ken Luttrell and John Pfeiffer on Friday, March 24 at City Hall at noon.

A ribbon cutting will be held for IF Welding on Thursday, March 30 at the Chamber Office at 11 am.

A Cash Mob will be held on Thursday, April 6 at Frazier’s Osage Restaurant at 11:30 am.

A lunch and learn on public speaking with Mayor Homer Nicholson will be held on Tuesday, April 11 from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the Pioneer Technology Center Conference Center. The lunch and learn is $10, call the Chamber to reserve a spot. Lunch is included.

A ribbon cutting will be held for US Cellular on Friday, May 5 at 10 am.

Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) will be holding an event called “The Hero Effect” with motivational speaker Kevin Brown on Wednesday, May 24 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Pioneer Technology Center Conference Center. Tickets are $20 and the price includes lunch.

Committee members then provided their updates.

Angela Spicer with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma shared an update.

The fourth part of Hospice’s six-part series on dementia was held on Wednesday, March 22 at the Carolyn Renfro Center.

The Senior Resource meeting will be held on Thursday, March 30.

The Hospice Annual Bowling Tournament will be held at Lucas Lanes in Blackwell on Saturday, April 1. The tournament is currently sold out for all of its time slots.

PTC will be hosting a Health Fair on Wednesday, April 19.

Newkirk Senior Center will be holding a Health Fair on Friday, April 21.

Jenn Miller with Alliance Home Health shared that they are changing their name to Assured Home Heath to avoid confusion with the hospital.

Miller also shared that they are looking to hire a full-time RN and a physical therapist assistant (PTA).

Kate Snyder with Stolhand- Wells Group shared progress is being made to the new building, however, there is still no set move in date as of yet.

Matthew Schatz with Plaza 14 shared that they recently absorbed Design Hair Studio into the plaza.

Jacque O’Grady with Via Christi Village shared that there are several moving in on assisted living. Via Christie also is looking to hire RNs.

Via Christie will also be hosting their Easter egg hunt on Thursday, April 6.

Ryian Crenshaw with Hearing Group shared they have a captioning phone that is free for anyone with a hearing loss.

Tara Goldman with United Way provided an update.

United Way of Ponca is currently offering their free tax services.

The Manering Grant is available for non-profits until Friday, March 24.

United Way is opening their letter of intent this year to take on the opportunity of new partnering agencies on Monday, April 3.

The May Day of Caring is coming up on Saturday, May 13 and will include a food drive, blood drive and health fair.

Ashley Pietz with Custom Mechanical Equipment (CME) shared that they are currently working on the two largest projects they have ever had. They are also looking at expansion opportunities.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 8 am.
