Laureate Phi’s president Donna Rubio called the February meeting to order on March 1st, due to ice and snow storm that happened on scheduled meeting time last month. Members met in home of Billie Huddleston with Virginia Starks, Donna Rubio and Terri as co-hostesses.

At the business meeting communications were concerning Melva Keen’s husband and his progress since surgery.

Reports were given on membership by Terri Buesing and also on Service. Service committee have provided blankets and coats and other items donated by members to Bridgeway, Vintage Swag, Rose Stone Inn and other places where a need was felt during the bitter cold weather.

Traveling Basket is now with Billie Huddleston.

International theme “Sisters By Choice” is on display in our current yearbooks thanks to Carolyn Chanslor who compiled our yearbooks.

A chapter, concerning traditions of Beta Sigma Phi was reviewed by Virginia.

During Valentine’s Day all members received a nice card from our president since we have not been able to choose Secret Sisters this year due to COVID. Members appreciated her thinking of each one as we were confined and meetings have to be cancelled.

Due to missing Febru ary meeting because of ice and snow we had to delay crowning the new Queen for the chapter. Past Queen, Carolyn Chanslor crowned our newQueen, Billie Huddleston and presented her with a yellow rose bush in a pot that can be planted outside. BIllie being a recent new transfer from Blackwell chapter gave us al title background on herself, where she was born and some of the places she has lived as a child. Billie’s family moved eventually to Blackwell whee she graduated from high school. Billie laughed when she said she checks on the elderly but the looking around realized that she herself is elderly and no one to check on that is older than she is.

Terri gave a program on issues she and her daughter are experiencing from hackers. One thing she suggested that one freeze your credit accounts which can then be unfrozen when you need them. The numbers to do this are Trans Union 1-800-916- 8800, Equifax 1-800-685-1111, and Experian 1-800-509-8495. This way no one can take out a loan on your account.

Terri promised more information in the future on other steps that may be taken to stop identity theft. She will have a sheet to hand out at that time.

Meeting closed with refreshment served and members happy to be together again for a meeting.
