Kay County Board of Commissioner’s Regular Meeting Held

The Board of County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at 9 a.m. and all county commissioners, the Kay County Clerk and Secretary, Tammy Reese, and the District Attorney, Brian Hermanson, were in attendance.

Donna Parker, Oklahoma Court Services, gave her reports for the months of September and October 2020. The month of September included 18 new service clients and the month of October included 21 new service clients. Some of the businesses where these participants complete their community service hours include, but are not limited to Blackwell Cemetery, Friendship Feast, Willow Springs Football Field, Habitat For Humanity Restore, My Favorite Things, New Life Trails and Wheatheart Nutrition. A few other places where participants may complete community service included First Christian Church, Blackwell Fire Department, Camp McFadden and Lake Ponca. At the meeting, OSU Kay

County Extension discussed their October 2020 Stakeholders Report and different program activities took place in the month of October.

The Kay County 4-H Achievement Banquet was held on October 12th at the Kay County Courthouse parking lot. Families were able to safely distance in their cars and watch the year in review on the big screen. A National 4-H Week Proclamation also took place at the Kay County Commissioner’s Meeting on October 5, 2020.

The Kay County Board of County Commissioner’s meetings are held each Monday of the month at the Kay County Courthouse in the Commissioner’s Court on the first floor of the courthouse at 9 a.m. Masks are encouraged and social distancing is suggested at all meetings.
