On Monday, July 6, 2020 at approximately 3:01 a.m. the Kaw Nation Police Department received a call from Juniors Safes and Alarms that an alarm had been activated at Woodridge Market. Woodridge Market is located at 4128 Lake Road in Ponca City and is on property owned by Kaw Nation.

According to the police log, while Kaw Nation Police Department was in route to the scene of the crime, a call came in from the Kay County Sheriff’s Department and informed them that there was a witness on the scene. The witness was pumping gas at the time of the break-in. According to the police log, the witness heard the alarm going off and then saw a male wearing a hoodie run out of the front door of the store. He saw the subject run alongside the East side of the building, toward the south and then west into the field, at which time he lost sight of the suspect.

Also, according the police log, the witness called the Kay County Sheriff’s Office and heard a loud vehicle start up and speed off through the field while he was on the phone.

According to the police log, Officer Tzinzio Reyes arrived at 3:15 a.m. and secured the scene while a search was conducted in the field for the suspect. Officers were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle. Officer Reyes and Officer Chris Haney walked the outer perimeter of the store and located an open carton of cigarettes with several packs scattered on the ground. According to the police log, they also located a hammer on the ground, in front of the broken glass window of the store.
