RECPLEX NEWS PAINT NIGHTS AT THE RECPLEX

• Paint Nights in the Rec-Plex Art Studio – Get in touch with your artistic side, no matter what your skill level! You can choose to register for one, two or all 3 classes.

• February 21, March 21, and April 18, at 5:00 p.m.

• For ages 12 and up. Cost is $30.00 each session, and $5.00 for additional family member.

SAFESITTER BABYSITTING ESSENTIALS

• Safesitter Babysitting Essentials in the RecPlex Art Studio is designed to prepare students to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. This instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.

• This is a two-day class on March 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and March 6 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

• For 6th thru 8th grade age participants. The cost is $55.00 for RecPlex member or $75.00 for non-members.

YOUTH BOXING CLASS

• Youth ages 6 and older can participate in boxing alongside “The Last Round” fight team. Kids and teens all ages will learn technique and professional fighting skill-sets that will engage them in physical fitness, self-confidence and proper fight training.

• Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

• For ages 6 and older. Cost is $20.00 for the entire month and classes are not pro-rated.

YOUTH RUNNING CLUB

• The RecPlex Youth Running Club is designed to help boys and girls to develop and improve cardiovascular fitness with fun and engaging running activities.

• Classes will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:15 p.m., from March 2 to April 6 at the RecPlex lobby.

• For boys and girls ages 7-13 this class is FREE for members and $30.00 for non-members.

RECPLEX YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

• Youth sports or youth programs are eligible for youth scholarships at the RecPlex. No funds will go to monthly memberships for youth or adults. The participant shall pay $15.00 for any youth sport or program if appropriate Proof of Need has be presented and funds are available.

• Applicants are required to provide in person the Proof of Need listed below to the Parks and Recreation office at the RecPlex between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and must talk with the Secretary or the Membership Specialist.

• Eligibility Criteria, Parent/Guardian of youth participant must:

• Request scholarship and prior to registration deadline

• Provide Proof of Need from one of the following:

• o Involvement in Free or Reduced Lunch Program

o Involvement in the Temporary Assistants for Needy Families Program from Oklahoma

• Department of Human Services

o Involvement in a group home subsequent to the minor being judicially place in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services

The Senior Diner is open for meals on-site and drive-thru. Reservations are REQUIRED for onsite AND drive-thru, and due by 3:00 p.m. the prior day. Drive-thru meals can be picked up at 11:45 a.m. When preparing the meals, the Senior Diner must have an exact number of attendees to avoid waste.

NOC Board of Regents meeting rescheduled to Feb. 24

The Northern Oklahoma College Board of Regents meeting set for Thursday, Feb. 18 has been moved to Wednesday, Feb. 24 due to inclement weather on Feb. 18.

Regents will meet at 1 p.m. in the Renfro Center at NOC Tonkawa.
