The Festival of Angels have decided to change the opening night party this year due to requirements for COVID-19 for the safety and best interest of the public.

Volunteers are currently working diligently on getting over 300 Holiday Light Displays put up at Cann Memorial Gardens, Marland’s Grand Home, the Host Angel at the Pioneer Woman Statue and the Mile of Angels at Lake Ponca Park on LA Cann Drive. This is the largest animated Christmas Light Display in Northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. This festival is funded solely through donations.

The lights will go on and the park will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 6 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on site to hand out gloves. The Pioneer Tech Girls 4 Success group will be handing out a snack and milk to children until 9 p.m. The Pioneer Tech Criminal Justice class will be there as well to direct traffic. Other volunteers who will be assisting with opening night include the Kay County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, the Newkirk Go-Getters 4H Club and the Ponca City News.

The Festival of Angels Volunteers ask that everyone stay in their vehicles and come out and enjoy the lights on November 25th through December 30th from 6-10 p.m.
