Over 13,000 Oklahomans have now tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Five more Kay County residents have tested positive for the virus since Friday, bringing the county number to 92. The county remains with seven deaths from the virus and 69 of those confirmed cases have recovered.

The five additional confirmed cases are all in Ponca City.

The highest cities continue to be Tulsa with 2,262 cases, Oklahoma City with 2,182 cases, Guymon with 820 cases and Edmond with 439 cases.

As of Monday morning, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says 13,172 Oklahomans have tested positive for the virus with another 313,021 testing negative.

To date there are 385 deaths in the state and an additional 329 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized.

Oklahoma’s urban areas, as well as a few communities around the state, are experiencing a rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health says they are asking individuals to remain vigilant in their efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and ask that Oklahomans are responsible for protecting themselves from the virus.

Continue to follow these steps to protect yourself and those around you during the pandemic:

— Continue to practice social distancing

— Practice hand washing and personal health hygiene

— Wear a cloth face covering when in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain

— Individuals who are sick should self-isolate from the public and others and get tested for COVID-19

OSDH is urging Oklahomans who have chosen to attend large-scale gatherings in recent weeks to seek out testing for COVID-19, even if symptoms are not present.

County health departments continue to offer free curbside testing by appointment only.
