Eight more cases of COVID-19 were reported from the Oklahoma State Department of Health on Monday morning, bringing the county numbers to 112.

The county still reports seven deaths with 85 recoveries.

Ponca City has 106 of the 112 confirmed cases with five of the seven deaths and 80 of the 85 recoveries.

Ponca City has 98 confirmed cases on Thursday.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health said a total of 16,362 positive cases have been reported, an increase of 434 cases on Sunday.

Another 338,511 Oklahomans have tested negative for the virus.

There are currently 368 hospitalizations due to the virus and 399 deaths.

The actual number of cases is believed to be far higher, but many people haven’t been tested and some who get the disease don’t show symptoms.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms that clear up within weeks. But for others, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, the highly contagious virus can cause severe symptoms and be fatal.

The vast majority of people recover.
