Chris Henderson, City of Ponca City, reported on new businesses and remodels in current businesses. The RV Park on Waverly will be expanding. Approved budget, and approved housing incentive from the PCNA. The airport will also be open by July 1. Updates were also provided by various committee members.

Sue Lunsford announced a fundraiser event on Aug. 7 for Marland’s Place. The Family Fun Day event will have activities for children and adults, there will also be food trucks and bounce houses.

Lori Henderson, Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA), shared that PCDA had their Pitch Off last week. Girl Power is scheduled for next week. City Central returns to normal operation in July. PCDA also took part in the OESC Job Fair. The City Central courtyard was also host to live performances during the “Gotham comes to Ponca City” event. Henderson also advised to check out the retail portal through Main Street.

Nicole Foust and April Dowell, Osage Casino, shared that the casino had a “Burn the Night” event on June 17, and that there will be free play and good food for Father’s Day.

Cynthia Bunney, North Central Board of Realtors, shared that they are currently working on the fall festival for buyers and sellers. 40 houses and 75 land listings. No rentals left.

Shelly Regnier, Cimarron Transit, shared that the Pick Program just began in collaboration with the Uber app. Cimarron Transit is settled in the Eastin Properties building.

Rick Hancock, Rusty Barrell Supper Club, shared that business is great, a ladies’ night was held on June 17, and that the lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday.

Kelly Cross, Rick Scott Construction, shared that their back log is the largest it’s ever been; projects are going on across the state. Local projects are processing, including: Kay County Courthouse, Kay County Amphitheater, Newkirk Public Safety Center and Ponca City Public Safety Center.

Zach Trantham, Ponca City Chamber Tourism Bureau, shared a tourism update. Ponca City is the TravelOK.com for Mid-June, Mid July. A full page ad was in Oklahoma Today to highlight outdoor recreation in Ponca City. Ponca City has three nominations in the RedBud State Tourism Awards. Four “Made in Ponca City” baskets were made for Diane Anderson, one for RedBud State Tourism Awards Auction, one made for RCC Annual Tourism Meeting Auction, one made for PYE Cornhole Tournament. Items donated to local poker run for Julian Aguilar.

Ponca City saw visitors from Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico and all over Oklahoma. Attractions have reported visitors from all over the United States. A tourism vlog was done with Patti Beth Anderson of Making Memories Tours of Washburn, MO on Ponca City. She is looking to bring tour groups to Ponca City. What’s Happening PC? video received 7,000 views.

Adam Leaming, University Center, shared that the University Center hosted a Job Fair for Starbucks; work is being done on the parking lot, light poles and the roof.

John Kuhlmann, ABT Solutions, shared updates on wi-fi projects, an expansion at the Marina, University Center, the City of Tonkawa.

Evan’s Children Academy of Performing Arts will be putting on a showing of Shrek on the weekends of July 9 to 11, and July 16 to 18.

Lisa Breedlove, Home Sweet Home Realty, they had just opened and are available for property management and real estate services, and handyman services (including anything from bathroom tiles to cleaning gutters).

Brad Fox, Evans & Associates, shared that Evans is busy with projects progressing around the city. Evans also attended the OESC Career Fair, and brought back two new hires.

Rich Cantillon, provided a chamber update. The Chamber had great ribbon cuttings for AfterShave Barbering Co. and the Ponca City Country Club’s Carl and Brenda Renfro Golf Center.

They welcomed Luke Vanderwork, the new Tulsa area field rep for congressman Frank Lucas. Cantillon also encouraged everyone to send a note to Dr. Evans at NOC before she leaves.

Tuesday, June 22, there will be a Business After Hours from 5 pm to 7 pm hosted by Custom Mechanical Equipment and being held at Ody’s Sports Bar located at 3700 Lake Rd. There will be a performance by Matt Williams.

Thursday, June 24, Party at the Palace planning meeting at the Ponca City Country Club, the Chamber is collecting auction items.

Friday, June 25, Senator Coleman and Representative Luttrell will give a legislative update during Ponca Politics at 11 am.

Wednesday, June 30, the Chamber will have a customer service training at 11:30 to 1:30 pm.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 15.
