The first five months of 2023 are history. How well did you do with keeping in touch with the Lord? I am hesitant to say it, but I believe each one of us has more work to do to stay in touch with their Creator. Burbank was once a thriving community during the oil boom days. I wish we had more history to give us information about all the people that have graced the doors of Burbank First Baptist Church. On August 14, 1932, First Baptist Church of Burbank was organized. The following week thirty-two people united with the Church in baptism. A tornado swept through Burbank on June 6, 1936, causing significant damage to the church. On October 10, 1948, the home of the church clerk was destroyed by fire. In it were all the founding church documents. So, the first 16 years of church history are gone. The church has been blessed with great record keepers since. We can trace the church history back to 1948. The church has been blessed with several men called as the Pastor. There are many faithful workers whose efforts have kept the church doors open to anyone looking for a church home in our area. As Pastor, I was called in ministry in September 2008. Soon my wife and I will have served the Burbank community for 15 years. It is a blessing to see what the Lord can do when people are faithful in serving and inviting their friends and neighbors to come worship with us. The work of the Lord continues to be a blessing to the body of believers we call the “Church” in Burbank, Oklahoma. To God be the glory, great things He has done.
