North Central Oklahoma Beekeepers Association has decided to cancel the remaining meetings for 2020 due to Covid-19. We hope to resume meetings early 2021.

October is the time of year beekeepers begin preparing their bee hives for winter. Like everything in beekeeping, there are several different ways of doing this. One method is to add a sugar or candy board. The candy board instructions will be posted on our facebook page as well as our google page. Now is a good time to feed bees sugar water at a 1:1 ratio. Bees need lots of food storage to survive the winter and feeding the bees will give them an opportunity to have more food in reserve. Also, now is the time to remove any unneeded hive bodies. Extra hive bodies are added space the bees need to keep warm.
