Poncan Theatre – The Poncan Theatre is a historic theater and list on the National Register of Historic Places and is a contributing property of the Downtown Ponca City Historic District. The theater was designed by the Boller Brothers and opened on September 20, 1927. The Poncan Theatre offers a wide variety of live performances throughout the year, movies and rental spaces that can be used for many types of events. Standing Bear Museum & Education Center – Features tribal displays, traveling exhibits, artwork, and other educational material. The 63 acre park encompasses more than eight fully developed acres that includes a one acre pond, a walking trail winding through native grasses and wildflowers to the monument site with the statue of Ponca City Chief Standing Bear. The viewing court is located at the feet of Standing Bear and contains large sandstone boulders around its parameter affixed with the official brass seals of the six area tribes; Osage, Pawnee, Otoe-Missouri Kaw, Tonkawa, and Ponca. Silvertop Farm & Vineyards – The farm is a fully functional farm located on 4,000 acres founded by Joe and Ruth Steichen in 1945. The farm operation consists of small grain crops, heritage Shropshire sheep and Hereford cattle, hay, grapes, pecans, and vineyards. New Life Trails Ministries – At New Life Trails they believe that animal interaction can have a profound and nourishing effect on people. Children are open to animals in ways they often struggle with connecting to people. Learning to care for animals seems to develop a sense of responsibility, empathy and caring for children. The Doodle Academy – The Doodle Academy is a home for artistic learning and exploration. The space provides a ceramic studio, educational classes, party space, an art gallery, and rental event space. Cann Memorial Botanical Gardens - A 10 acre estate located in the heart of Ponca City. The estate was given to the City of Ponca City by Elsie Cann Brown, daughter of L. A. and Mary Cann in August 1975, in memory of her parents with the stipulation that it would be maintained as a memorial garden for use of the people of Ponca City. A two story farm house built in 1908 has been refurbished with a beautiful shaded patio area with over 2,500 feet of brick walkways. There is also a formal garden containing several hun-dred varieties of annuals and perennials planted in unique color displays. The garden features the Storywalk with 16 storywalk posts from a story book. Many activities such as workshops, seminars and festivals take place at this location 1500 E. Grand Avenue, Ponca City.

B & B Sun ‘n Fun Recreation - A nine acre waterpark east of Ponca City, near Kaw Lake. The waterpark offers 4 waterslides, Wave Pool, Lazy River, and Kiddie Cove. Lake Ponca – Location offers a playground, picnic tables and pavilion, grills, restrooms/ showers, Disc Golf Course, two enclosed fishing docks, sand volleyball courts, walking/hiking trails, swim beach, boat ramps, campgrounds and Kayak rentals. If you are wanting to rent a shelter house, get a Lake Ponca boat permit, or a Lake Ponca fishing license you have the option to do it online. Hideaway Marina – Owned by Bryan Kugel, the Hideaway Store & Grill combined has in stock supplies for boating and swimming, personal items, clothing with marina logos, snacks, refrigerated items, water, sodas and beer. The restaurant grill has a full menu with indoor and outdoor seating. The Hideaway Marina Bar has indoor and outdoor seating. The dock area has 2 big TV’s for viewing by customers and guest. The Hideaway Marina provides live music on the dock for entertainment. Camp McFadden - Camp McFadden is located approximately ten miles east of Ponca City, Oklahoma on 250 acres of woods, hills and ponds overlooking the west shore of Kaw Lake. Camp McFadden offers hiking trails, a nature center, archery range, zip line, canoeing, fishing, volleyball, horse shoes and playground equipment. The camp also features a high and low ropes course for groups of ten and more. The camp includes the lodge, cabins, and RV hookups. Blackwell Area

Top of Oklahoma Historical Society Museum – Take a trip back in time when you enter this magnificent structure that was constructed in 1912-1913. You will experience life and history as it was in the early days. The museum has Native American artifacts, clothing exhibits, antique toys, dolls, Military rooms, a hands on area, craft area, the historical 1955 tornado exhibit, the Blackwell School Maroon’s display and many more historical items. Blackwell Skate Park - Grand Opening was on Saturday July 3, 2021. The park is located at Memorial Park at Coolidge & B Street.

Barn Quilt Tour and Geo-Caching - Cindy Oard, owner of Wonderfully Made Studio and Diane Braden, connected with the Top of Oklahoma Museum, jump started the Top of Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail in Blackwell. The Geocaching Trail was created in 2018 by Cecil Phibbs from Stillwater and Rhonda Cobb, to coincide with the Barn Quilt Trail to be an adventure alongside the 62 barn quilts tour. There are 40 geocaches in the Blackwell area. Oard designed the Geocache coin which is awarded when a total of 40 geocaches are accumulated. On one side of the coin “Top of Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail” is written, the other side is “Oklahoma’s First Geocaching Trail, Blackwell, America’s Hometown.” Follow on their Facebook pages Wonderfully Made Studio, Top of Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail, Top of Oklahoma Museum, and Blackwell Tourism. Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma Tribal Museum is in Fort Oakland on Allen Drive.

Heart in the Park, Heartshaped Labrinyth, a unique timeline of Tonkawa’s history from 1879 to present. Located east of the Centennial Park on East Grand, downtown Tonkawa.

Area Monuments: “Chief Joseph” is located at Hwy 60 & Hwy 177, east .8 of a mile on Hwy 60 the monument is on the right.

“Nez Perce Burial Ground” is located east of the Chief Joseph monument to Tonkawa Bingo sign, turn right and go south .9 of a mile to see monument. Fort Oakland and the Tonkawa Indian Museum are located farther south on the west side of road.

“The Buck Bill Monument” is located in the Indian Burial Ground. The Indian Burial Ground is located I mile south from Fort Oakland, at stop sign, turn right. The monument is in a fenced area on the south side of road.

“Jim H. Stone” Horse Monument is located south & east of Tonkawa. Follow Main Street south over the Salt Fork River Bridge, continue two miles then two miles east to Highway 77. Go approximately one mile south on Highway 77, the monument is on the east side of the road.

“Three Sands” monument dedicated to Three Sands is located at Ray See Park on South Main Street, Tonkawa.

The Hub Entertainment Center – The Hub is the center of entertainment offering movies, bowling, arcade, VR, birthday parties, e-gaming and a sports bar. The Kaw City Museum - Admission is always free to view the large collections of early day items and artifacts on display. The museum’s summer schedule runs from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day. Hours of operation are Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. and Monday holidays of Memorial Day and Labor Day. Tours on other dates can be scheduled by contacting Dorothy at 580-269-2085. The Pioneer Cove Marina – Located on Kaw Lake the marina is owned by Troy and Marla Trecek with their children Dylen and Tyler. The Marina provides services such as annual slip rental, on-the-water fuel service, and a convenience store with everything needed for a great day on Kaw Lake fishing or boating. The convenience store supplies include fishing gear, life jackets, boating supplies, drinks, snacks, ice cream, apparel, and a restaurant. The Marina provides live entertainment on the dock. Osage/Tulsa Counties

Pawhuska Area

Bluestem Falls - Bluestem Falls is one of the best waterfalls in Oklahoma. It’s caused by the overflow from Bluestem Lake spilling out into Middle Bird Creek. Bluestem Lake is a man-made lake, created in the 1950’s for flood control, recreation, and as a secondary water supply for Osage County. The fact that nature has turned this manmade project into something so beautiful is a bonus with the water cascading over rocks from the lake spilling water into the local creek. Located in the prairies of northeastern Oklahoma near Pawhuska it’s a picture-perfect spot hiding away that you’ll want to check out. Bluestem Falls is west of Pawhuska on highway 60 and north at County Road, 4275.

Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve - The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve is the largest protected remnant of tallgrass prairies on earth and is privately owned & managed by The Nature Conservancy. This is truly a beautiful piece of land that has been preserved and the bison herd is magnificent. It is a long drive to get into the heart of the preserve, but it is worth it when you see the vistas of the tall grass prairie and seeing the bison living like they once did, just roaming free. There are trails for hiking and roads to drive on so you can take in the beauty and vastness of the preserve. Be aware that whether you are walking or driving on the preserve that the bison are roaming free and they are wild, do not approach, get your pictures from a safe distance. The preserve is open every day from dawn to dusk with no charge for admittance, however they do take donations and they have a rustic gift shop with volunteers to tell you the history of the preserve. The Swinging Bridge – The Swinging Bridge in Pawhuska was built across Bird Creek in 1926. This miniature woodplanked suspension bridge is not for nervous pedestrians. It is located off Kihekah Avenue, south of Main Street.

Osage Hills State Park - Located just east of Pawhuska in the heart of the Osage Nation in northeast Oklahoma, Osage Hills State Park is a prime example of Oklahoma’s natural beauty. A visit to Osage Hills State Park in the fall will inspire visitors, as the foliage transforms from green to vivid shades of yellow, orange and red. Visitors may catch a glimpse of white-tailed deer or a wild turkey while on the trails. Bartlesville Area

Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve - Founded in 1925 by oilman Frank Phillips. Woolaroc is a 3,700 acre working ranch that has a 50,000 square foot museum with a collection described by Christie’s of New York as “one of the finest collections of southwest art in the world”. The original Lodge home is a tourist attraction along with a large herd of bison, elk, longhorn cattle, scotch highland cattle and hundreds of deer on the property. The name WOOLAROC is derived from three words—the woods, lakes and rocks that make up the beautiful Osage Hills of northeast Oklahoma where Woolaroc is located. The name was originally intended for the rustic Lodge ranch house, but it was so unique that it soon became the name for the entire Frank Phillips ranch. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C., and a NARM (North American Reciprocal Museum) member which allows members access to over 800 national museums for free. Will Rogers once said, “When you are visiting the beauty spots of this country, don’t overlook Frank Phillips’ ranch and game preserve in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area – Turkey Mountain is a 300 acre area of undeveloped land that stretches from 1-44 to 71st street in Tulsa and is a dream come true for nature lovers. Located on the banks of the Arkansas River, the area is just minutes from downtown, making it perfect for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of city life or a fun detour for those traveling to the area. With four marked trails ranging from .8 to 5.7 miles and 25 miles of unmarked trails to explore, it’s a beautiful outdoor destination for hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers and equestrians. Gathering Place – A project of the George Kaiser Family Foundation, committed to creating a gathering space that is a recreational, civic and cultural destination for all walks of life to enjoy.
