TULSA, Oklahoma, Feb. 17, 2021 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK), is offering multiple health plan options with this week’s opening of the federal marketplace’s Special Enrollment Period (SEP), in response to the Covid-19 public health emergency. The goal of the new enrollment period is to expand access to quality, cost-effective health care to Oklahoma’s uninsured population. No proof of a qualifying life event is required to buy a health plan during this new SEP, which runs February 15- May 15, 2021.

“As the state’s oldest and largest not-for-profit health insurer, we are committed to providing quality, cost-effective coverage to every person in Oklahoma,” said BCBSOK President Joseph R. Cunningham, M.D. “I urge Oklahomans to look at their options and get covered in these unpredictable times, now more than ever.”

With the opening of the SEP, BCBSOK’s Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) team of licensed specialists, will travel the state beginning the week of Feb. 22, to help Oklahomans enroll in person, by phone or virtually. BCBSOK’s Mobile Assistance Center team can:

• Explain benefits;

• Find the best plan to fit every budget and need;

• Check eligibility for financial assistance.
