In response to the proclamations made by the state of Oklahoma on COVID-19, the Tonkawa Tribe has decided to continue the closures of Tonkawa Hotel & Casino, Native Lights Casino and Tonkawa Gasino until further notice.

This decision is in the best interest of our guests, our team and our community as the current public health crisis evolves.

“We feel it is our responsibility to remain closed to help in the process to fight against this virus,” says Phillip Glass, CEO of Tonkawa Enterprises. “Keeping our properties closed is not only the right thing to do, but we also want to follow protocol that has been set for our state. We ask that everyone understand our decision as we navigate through this time of uncertainty.”

“Our management team will continue to keep everyone informed and we will provide updates as they become available. The safety and security of our guests and team members is our top priority for all three of our casinos.”

Osage Casino said a future reopening date has not yet been determined for its seven state casinos.

“The safety and security of our guests, team members and their families is and has always been our highest priority, and we are particularly proud of our team’s response to COVID-19. The industry-leading measures we put in place allowed us to conduct our businesses within the guidelines established by the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC), but we voluntarily made this decision in order to help protect our guests, team members and partners from the spread of COVID-19,” according to a statement released online.

The Kaw Nation also announced on Saturday that all SouthWind Casinos will remain closed until April 15 when officials will reevaluate the situation.
