The holidays are a time for giving and a time for thankfulness. Every day one in six Oklahomans, including one in four children live with food insecurity. Donations are down for the Regional Food Back of Oklahoma due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

APMEX, a leading online retailer of precious metals and rare coins, is the presenting sponsor for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s annual Holiday Match campaign.

“I grew up like many people and went through tough times,” said APMEX founder and President Scott Thomas. “[My family] was not able to have food we needed.” As a part of the Holiday

As a part of the Holiday Match campaign, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $700,000 thanks to gifts from presenting sponsor APMEX and the Cresap Family Foundation.

“Food bank donations are down, it’s a tough year for people,” said Thomas. “My goal is to support when I can, how I can and while I can.”

AMPEX values giving back to the community with this year marking the fifth year in a row that the company has partnered with the Regional Food Bank on the holiday match campaign. The company and its employees have contributed $1.6 million and completed over 1,200 service hours for the cause.

“The food bank is a great service and serves thousands,” said Thomas. “[The food bank is a] great organization to put food in the bellies of people and I’d love to see people give this year.”
