CAMP MCFADDEN (May 8. 2021) – 101 fish were caught by some 65 kids during the first Camp McFadden Kids Hooked on Fishing Saturday, May 1 at the camp on the west shore of Kaw Lake. Fishing took place in the two ponds on the camp property and were stocked the week of the event by the Oklahoma Wildlife Department

The first-place team sponsored by D&P Tank caught a total of 20 fish and the second-place team sponsored by Fence Restorations caught a total of 16 fish. Members of the firstplace team each received a rod and reel donated by The Bass Federation (TBF) and second place team members a tackle pack also donated by TBF.

“We appreciate the many sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event possible and Camp McFadden plans to hold it again next year,” said Jeremy Hollingsworth, event chairman.

Event sponsors included Anderson Flooring, Bubbas Outdoor Sports, Heather Cannon Honda, Hoffman Painting, Klingers Collision Center, and Legacy Signs. Team Sponsors were Boat-n-Tote, Boomer Tire, D’s Trinkets, D&P Tank, Fence Restorations, Jon Wells Equipment, Storehouse Services, Tom’s Place, Tyndall Family Dentistry, and United Country Shaw Real Estate. Other sponsors were Phillips 66, RCB Bank, and Lakeview Convenience Store and Bait Shop

Originally founded by oil-man William McFadden as a children’s camp, Camp McFadden sits on over 250 acres overlooking the west shore of Kaw Lake in north-central Oklahoma just east of Ponca City. It is approximately seven miles east of the Pioneer Woman on Lake Rd. to Enterprise Rd. then north one mile to Hartford. Turn right (east) and enter through the Camp McFadden gate on your left.

Other board members are Judy Basham, Jim Mills and Kathy Tippin.
