Couple celebrates 50 years

The children of Butch and Ruth Ann Lingenfelter would like to announce the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents. Children Amy Ware of Stillwater, Rod Lingenfelter of Enid, and Ryan Lingenfelter of Austin, Texas will be honoring their parents with a reception on April 24th, 5:30 to 9:30 in the banquet room of Convention Hall in downtown Enid.

What is so good about being bad? We root for James Bond and "Alien's" Ripley to win, but they're at their best when they're matched with a charismatic baddie. Sure, we know Bond will triumph in the end, but we need to believe — at least for a couple of hours — that the villain will get close to shutting down the power grid or laserbeaming the Earth's core or whatever it is he wants to do.

Two directors of the Poncan Theatre will be entertaining with the Poncan Jubilee. Christopher Radaker-James is the current director and Dave May, former director, are joining the show to promote the Poncan. The show is on Friday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m. This is a fund-raiser for the Poncan and all performers are donating their talent for this worthy course. Tickets are $15.00 adult and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Tickets are now on sale at the Poncan Theatre and online and at the Chamber of Commerce. Dave May no longer lives

Every single character that has followed after him has been either a reaction to, subversion of, or reinforcement of the things the character stands for.

More Oklahomans qualify for financial assistance for health insurance coverage

CareerTech Partners with DPS to Offer Driver’s License Testing

Ponca City, OK — Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) offers Driver’s License Testing through a partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS). Intended to help provide more test locations across Oklahoma, Governor Kevin Stitt signed an executive order allowing CareerTech testing centers to offer the written exam to Oklahoman’s pursuing a driver’s license. “This partnership will greatly benefit our customers and allows this part of the process to be accomplished without having to visit the DPS office,” remarked DPS Commissioner John Scully.

Cherokee Nation files hundreds of criminal cases, seeks tools to fight crime on reservation

Apr. 7—The Cherokee Nation has filed more than 400 criminal cases since its eastern Oklahoma reservation was formally recognized last month and needs help from Congress to meet jurisdictional obligations that reach into 14 counties, Cherokee Nation Attorney General Sara Hill said Tuesday.
