Circle Cinema announces additional screening of ‘Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre’

Tulsa, OK May 13 2021: The non-profit Circle Cinema announced today that an additional free screening on Thursday May 27, 7pm has been added for “Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre” in partnership with the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission. The first screening on Saturday May 22 sold out in just days as tickets were made available to Circle Cinema Members and community partners last week. Tickets for Thursday May 27 will be available to the public at no charge starting this Friday May 14 at CircleCinema.org, with details about special pre- and post-film content coming soon. MJ&H Fabrication in Ponca City and Pioneer Technology Center

MJ&H Fabrication in Ponca City and Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) teamed up once again for the Fourth Annual Weld for Work Competition last week. This competition aligns newly graduated Pioneer Tech welders with jobs available in their district. PTC students competed, in a two-day event, testing their welding ability and fabrication skills. MJ&H put together a unique welding skill challenge for the students. First place went to Koby Wilson, POHI; 2nd place was Damon Smith, POHI; 3rd place Jonathan Arteaga, Blackwell; 4th place Trey Reese, Woodland; 5th place Bryce Gilliland, POHI; and 6th place Brody Spencer, Woodland. As some GOP states seek to limit ballot access, Oklahoma expands early voting

May 13—Oklahoma is poised to add an extra day of in-person early voting ahead of general elections every two years. After some Oklahomans waited hours to cast early ballots for the 2020 presidential election, a new state law will add a fourth day of early voting ahead of Oklahoma’s general elections for governor and president.

2021 Earth Day Celebrations

Thursday April 22, 2021 was a day of celebration in Kay County for Earth Day, the holiday’s 51st anniversary. Earth Day was created in 1970 and has grown into an event observed by a billion people in nearly 200 countries each year. It is a day of education about environmental issues and a global challenge to preserve and protect the environment. Each year Earth Day has a theme, for 2021 the theme is “Restore Our Earth.”
