Tulsa man will face trial

TULSA (AP) — A Tulsa man accused of shooting two police officers and killing one of them will proceed to trial on first-degree murder and other charges. Special Judge April Seibert on Wednesday also found probable cause for David Anthony Ware to face trial on charges of shooting with intent to kill, drug possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, the Tulsa World reported.

STILLWATER — An Oklahoma State University professor goes to great lengths to ensure his students are engaged in his lectures, even to the point of causing himself a little pain. Students in Wyatt Hoback’s class this semester – ENTO 2003 Insects and Society – watched closely as he intentionally let a cicada killer sting his arm as part of a recent classroom demonstration.

Accident — An officer was requested on Tuesday at 2:10 a.m. to the Highlander Apartments on the 1400 block of W. Highland Ave. in reference to an intoxicated female by the name of Brandi West. Reportedly she had wrecked into multiple light poles and knocked power out to one of the buildings. An officer responded and took an accident report.

Hayes Brothers Band to perform at Full Moon Concert Wednesday, September 2

The “Hayes Brothers Band” will take the stage at the free outdoor Full Moon Concert, Wednesday, September 2 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand in Tonkawa. The group performs music from the 1950’s through today including wellknown pop, rock and country classics that are audience favorites. Band members are Clark Hayes on guitar and lead vocals, Kent Hayes on drums and lead vocals, Keke Johnson on Hammond organ and guitar, Stan Villines on bass, Steve Scott on keyboards, Jace Sober on guitar, and Eddie Holick on violin/ fiddle and guitar.
