They had a comfortable 7-1 lead entering the eighth inning, when Gregory Soto took the ball from Yunior Marte. Soto allowed three straight singles to load the bases, a sac fly and two walks (one of which scored another run).

MOTO-X PARTICIPANTS from across the state of Oklahoma, including Ponca community members, converged the Ponca City track April 6-7 for the the MotoPlayground Oklahoma Roots tour, which included stops at Tulsa, Elk City, Norman, Muskogee and Wellston. Each track will have two stops, and the next stop for Ponca City is Sept. 7-8.

Kay County community invited to Newkirk health fair

The Senior Citizens Center has long served their patrons in the Newkirk community, providing needed resources and information to live a healthy life. To augment that goal, they hold an annual health fair each spring, bringing needed resources to the public in one location. The health fair is returning this Friday, April 19, and the entire Kay County community is welcome to find ways to educate themselves and live a better life.
