Nov 3rd Election Focus of Kay GOP

The Kay County Republican Party October meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00PM. The meeting location is in the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall located on the corner of E. Liberty and Fourth Street (1104 N. Fourth Street). This month the KCRP welcome Newkirk Mayor Brian Hobbs as the meeting keynote speaker. Also on the agenda is KCRP Chairman John Happ and KCRP State Committeeman David Zimmerman, who will provide information about the two state questions and the Initiative and Referendum Process that will be on the November 3rd ballot.

Union Elementary teacher Melisa Smith selected for September Golden Apple Award

The Bull 104.7 and WBBZ 1230 AM have resumed recognizing outstanding teachers in our community with the Golden Apple Award. The recipient for September is Melisa Smith, 4th Grade teacher at Union Elementary. The award comes with an apple trophy and $200.00 in cash for purchase of classroom supplies. The generous sponsors contributing to this wonderful recognition are The Bull and WBBZ, Klinger’s Collision Center, Blackwell Dentistry, and Kenny Wheeler Farmers Insurance.

Wildcats best Bartlesville, bring home trophy

BARTLESVILLE -- In a game full of suspense from beginning to end, the Ponca City Wildcats picked up an important 10-7 victory over the Bartlesville Bruins Thursday night. With the victory Ponca City earned its second district win of the year and took possession of the traveling Conoco-Phillips trophy awarded each year to the winner of the Ponca-Bartlesville contest.
