There are certain things in the world of sports that I try not to miss. Some are the obvious (at least to me). The Super Bowl, World Series, NCAA Tournament all fit into the obvious category. Some of the less obvious include the Kentucky Derby, the Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating contest and the Indy 500.

There were other missteps along the way to a rare home sweep, and their first shutout loss since August of last year, but the Angels’ lack of clutch hitting loomed large over a 2-0 loss Sunday before an announced crowd of 36,345 at Angel Stadium.
